The story in the ClubSwan 36 class was also of an equally close fought contest, with Giangiacomo Serena di Lapigio's G-Spot bringing their A-game to produce a 1-2 scoreline in the final two races to overhaul the overnight leader Mamao.
Haakon Lorentzen's Brazilian team finished the Swan Tuscany Challenge in style, with Mamao winning the last race, but a fourth place in the first race of the day left them two points adrift of G-Spot at the finish. Mehmet Taki's Turkish-flagged Facing Future took the third spot on the podium.
Asked what the secret of G-Spot's success was, Giangiacomo Serena di Lapigio said: "I'm the oldest person in the fleet and this is our second year, so I would say we have a little bit of experience, and a little bit of luck, and also it's been good.
"There is no secret. We always try to win and sometimes you succeed and sometimes not. Today we had two consistent results, first and second, that we really needed.
"I would say that the feeling in the fleet is that the level is higher than last year. We have a couple of new entries who are really good, especially the Brazilian team who are very, very good sailors, and also the Turkish team who came up this year. Other teams will be joining us later in the season, so we will have 10 or 11 boats, all at a very high level."
At the celebratory prize-giving the Marina di Scarlino - appropriately the home of Swan in the Mediterranean - awarded prizes to the day's best performing boats, namely Hatari and G-Spot, who also received the Tuscany Challenge Trophies in their respective classes as well as prizes from ClubSwan Racing partner Sease.
Last night it had been the turn of shoreside events to take centre stage at the Swan Tuscany Challenge. The evening got underway with a sparkling wine tasting courtesy of Ferrari Trento which was held in the ClubSwan Lounge. The elegant and distinctive lounge was the creation of the renowned interior designer Ioanna Marinopoulos, and captured the Swan Spirit with elements of the brand's DNA.
After the wine tasting the Crew Dinner Party, hosted by Banor Capital, took place on the terrace of the Il Tarantella restaurant with stilt walkers and fire eaters putting on a great show for the many guests.
During the evening, the Marevivo environmental group – also a ClubSwan Racing partner - highlighted a joint campaign with Nautor's Swan. Marevivo's Beatrice Del Balzo said: "Microplastics are everywhere in the sea and represent a threat to the entire marine ecosystem. They also contaminate beaches, such as the beach of Calasetta in Sardinia. A real paradise polluted by plastic!
"This is why we decided to take action, carefully collecting every tiny piece, thanks to the support of Nautor’s Swan. Together we can make a difference!"
Meanwhile BMW - another ClubSwan Racing partner - was offering a sail and drive experience with a selection of their full-electric car models, namely the iX3 M Sport, X3 xDrive30e and i4 eDrive40.
And on the artistic front the Swan Tuscany Challenge has seen a unique collaboration mixing contemporary street art with the more traditional art of sailing, with all competitors receiving a T-shirt with the ClubSwan Logo - and 2022 events - reinterpreted by Spiros Zouboulakis and the NOS Graffiti Team.
The Swan Tuscany Challenge has delivered five days of exhilarating racing and set the bar high for the whole of the 2022 ClubSwan Racing season. The fleet will gather again at the end of next month in Villasimius for the Swan Sardinia Challenge.
